The Silver Case HD, a remastered version of SUDA 51’s first game and initial entry in his “Kill the Past” series, is coming to PC this autumn, Grasshopper Manufacture has announced.

Unlike the later entries in the Kill the Past series – Flower, Sun, and Rain, and Killer7 – The Silver Case was only ever available in Japan. The new HD remaster will not only update the visuals of the 1999 PlayStation title, but also introduce an English language version giving more fans the chance to enjoy the title.

The game sees players taking control of a member of the Special Forces Unit Republic, who must investigate a string of serial murders terrorising Japan. The action take place from a first-person perspective and takes inspiration from adventure games and visual novel genres.

“I am happy to announce that the long-awaited Silver Case HD remastered version will finally be available as promised,” said SUDA 51. “This title was originally released in 1999, but was never released outside of Japan until today. The English version will also be available, another promise made to you and will be on Steam, PLAYISM, and other platforms.”
