When it became possible that Omni-Man may be one of the (unconfirmed) fighters to come to Mortal Kombat 1, Street Fighter 6 players said “We don’t need him, we’ve got Omni-Man at home.”

The central character of Amazon’s animated series is just one of a range of famous fighters players have been making in Capcom’s fighter and sharing on the game’s subreddits since it launched over the weekend. But I_AmTyler’s attempt is a particularly impressive facsimile of the character, complete with trademark ‘tache and white streaks in his hair.

Our only note isn’t even really a criticism, as it appears Tyler has based Omni-Man’s likeness to appear even closer than perhaps his cartoon version to that of his voice actor – J Jonah Jameson (and Cave Johnson from Portal) favourite J.K. Simmons. Many other users on the Street Fighter 6 subreddit felt the same. “You can also demand pictures of Spider-Man” comes the response from symbiotics. Some however, such as LunaSockets888, are putting their own Street Fighter twist on classic quotes from the superhero show. “HOWWW can you anti-air when you keep spamming fireballs— think, Ryu!”

Of course, there’s nothing official about this crossover, as it’s all done with Street Fighter 6’s impressive customisation tools. It’s just a small part of why the game appears to have gone down extremely well with critics, Street Fighter fans and just about everyone else, with the official Japanese Street Fighter social media accounts today announcing that the game has already welcomed a million fighters over its launch weekend.
