Sony Bend Director and Writer John Garvin has said that story will be a 'huge part' of Days Gone. the upcoming PS4 exclusive zombie action game.

In an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine (via WCCFTech), Garvin said, 'I’m the writer, and the director, and I’ve written all the games for SIE Bend, and they are all narrative, story-driven games. So this is a huge part of the game. We’re just not talking about it yet.'

Garvin also went into detail on the game's enemies, which he stresses are 'infected,' as opposed to more traditional zombies. 'In the grand scheme of zombies, yeah, we’re like, infected. So we’re like 28 Days Later zombies, instead of Walking Dead zombies,' Garvin said.

He then went on to explain the differences that makes in gameplay terms, saying, 'What that allowed us to do was to create an ecosystem; you’re in an open world, with a day/night cycle, and you’ve got creatures that need to eat, they need to sleep, they need to drink… all of that is built into the daily cycles of the horde.'

We went hands on with Days Gone at E3, and it was precisely those hordes that captured our attention. They are massive.

Days Gone is scheduled to be released on February 22, 2019 for PlayStation 4.
