Zombie survive-em-up State of Decay 2 has hit 3 million players, publisher Microsoft has announced today. To celebrate, developer Undead Labs is releasing both the first paid content pack DLC for the game, as well as a free title update bringing the game to version 2.0.
The paid pack is called the Independence Pack and contains three very patriotic vehicles known as the Pyrohawk, the Burninator and the Meatwagon, which are all kitted out with zombie killing extras that put your car’s cup holder to shame. In addition, there’s three new melee weapons, two new ranged weapons, a bunch of single use fireworks and a new Fireworks Crafting facility. All of these are shown off in the trailer below.
That’s not all, however. Developer Undead Labs has also announced the release of patch 2.0, which adds 20 new missions, new “Revolutionary War” zombies, new Red Talon and Network weapons and a new Rare Books trader. This update is free to all players. Full patch notes are still forthcoming, but you can read the highlights on Undead Labs’ website.
The Independence Pack meanwhile will set you back £4.19/$4.99 to buy seperately, or is included in the game’s Ultimate Edition. If you’re an Xbox Games Pass subscriber, you also get 10% off the DLC.
