Star Wars: The Last Jedi actor John Boyega reads a list in the latest Battlefront trailer

EA has released a new trailer for its upcoming space shooter, Star Wars Battlefront II. This is Star Wars Battlefront 2 shows off some of the game’s locations, heroes, and vehicles that’ll be coming to the explosion-laden spectacular. The sub-five minute trailer even features narration from John Boyega, who plays the character Finn in Star Wars The Last Jedi. It’s a shame John sounds so bored throughout the trailer, I thought he’d have been chuffed with the addition of the single-player campaign. 

Battlefront II has built upon the solid foundations of the decent but dull Battlefront, and it looks like it’s taking the game up a notch or two. It all looks obscenely colourful and rather lovely considering that it’s about a pitched war for the soul of the universe.. 

The Starfighter Assault looks pretty fun, and brings back fond memories of space battles in Star Wars: Rogue Leader on the GameCube. Battlefront II also sees the introduction of class based gameplay, which gives players the choice between Officer, Assault, Heavy, and Specialist classifications. Kind of like the Assault, Engineer, Recon, and Support classes in Battlefield 4 then.

EA had previously announced that Star Wars Battlefront II would be getting a multiplayer beta, and this is coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 4 for players who’ve pre-ordered the game. In addition to earlier access, anyone who’s preordered the game gets access to bonus content, such as instant weapon unlocks, weapon mods, exclusive Kylo Ren and Rey-themed looks. Following the early access phase, the beta will open to the public two days later on October 6, and end on October 9.

Star Wars Battlefront II is out on November 17 2017 for PS4, PC and Xbox One.
