Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws is almost upon us, and the new open-world game is expected to be chock-filled with references. While the full game is still weeks away from launch, we’ve already discovered a surprising reference to The Book of Boba Fett.
Prior to the game’s release, the full Star Wars Outlaws achievements list has been released online. While the full achievements list features fewer references than many expect, there is at least one tease for fans.
Star Wars Outlaws’ Boba Fett Tease
Hidden in the midst of the Star Wars Outlaws achievements list, players can earn the “Like A Bantha” trophy. Players can earn this achievement/trophy after performing a perfect landing with the game’s speeder vehicle.
This is a direct reference to The Book of Boba Fett Episode 2 when the titular bounty hunter teaches Tusken Raiders to ride a speeder. In the scene, the bounty hunter compares riding the vehicles to riding a bantha.
This scene quickly turned into a huge internet meme back in 2022. Boba Fett’s comedic explanation combined with actor Temura Morrison’s glowing white teeth quickly took the scene to stardom. However, it also became a largely hated part of the Star Wars universe.
More References
Star Wars Outlaws’ achievements list also contains loads of other references to the overall series. One achievement is called “shoot first”, obviously referencing Han and Greedo’s infamous shootout. Another achievement references Yoda’s “there is no try” speech and another calls back to Han’s “never tell me the odds” quote.
There are also bound to be countless other references over the course of Outlaws’ story. With tens of hours of gameplay to explore Star Wars’ massive galaxy far, far away, we expect to see more references than we can count.
