BioWare is still targeting a holiday release for Star Wars: The Old Republic. Studio co-founder Dr. Greg Zeschuk stated the studio was “targeting holiday” for the game’s launch, explaining to Eurogamer: “We’re trying, as fast as we can. That’s the reality. It’s literally live right now; we’ve been doing a lot of testing with a lot of people behind the scenes.

“At any one time there are thousands of people playing the game. Starting next month [when public beta weekends are scheduled] we’re really going to start expanding that testing cycle.”

He added that the studio is ensuring the game will be “available, reliable, [and] really solid”.

EA recently announced its plans to limit sales of Star Wars: The Old Republic in order to ensure a smooth launch period for the game.
