The European launch of BioWare MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic is set to be two days earlier than originally announced, and will arrive on December 20.

This coincides with the North American release date for the game.

The news of the launch date shift was announced by the developer at Comic Con in New York, Joystiq reports.

The MMO is thought to hit 3 million sales in its first year according to Cowen & Company analyst Doug Creutz, despite previous skepticism.

BioWare has already made plans to limit sales of Star Wars: The Old Republic in order to ensure the game has a smooth launch period and the servers can handle the influx of users. So it’s a relatively odd decision to have a simultaneous launch in both North America and Europe if the limited release plan is still happening.
