Star Wars Battlefront’s Death Star expansion pack will release in September, DICE has announced.

The DLC will include new maps set both on the ground and “in space”, along with new weapons, Star Cards and two new heroes. One of them, DICE says, is a “larger-than-life character we know you’ve been patiently waiting for”.

A “sneak peek” at the expansion will be revealed at 7pm BST on Saturday, during a livestream being held at this weekend’s Star Wars Celebration.

Arriving next Wednesday, July 20, meanwhile, is a new offline ‘Skirmish’ mode that lets players compete against bots in single-player or via local split-screen. The new mode lets players try their hand at Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron across “multiple locations”, although it’ll only be available on console – there does not appear to be any plans for a release on PC.

Star Wars Battlefront launched on PS4, Xbox One and PC last November. A sequel is expected to release next year.
