EA has shipped 14 million units of Star Wars: Battlefront, a figure which is significantly higher than the publisher’s expectation for the multiplayer shooter.

Initial targets for the title were in the 9-10 million region, but back in October upped the game’s forecast to 13 million units. This figure was reached at the end of the holiday season, with a further million units added to the total in the months that followed.

Overnight EA announced it has plans to launch a new Battlefront game in 2017 based on the new Star Wars films.
