Star Wars Battlefront 2's Han Solo Season is due to kick off on May 15, which plonks gamers amidst a series of events based around the original trilogy before venturing into content from Solo: A Star Wars Story next month.

First up, players will be able to pay a trip to Jabba the Hutt's mankey palace in the modes Blast, Hero Showdown, and Heroes vs. Villains. Speaking of which, Hero Showdown is the new kid on the block here, where two on two battles pair heroes and villains against each other in an epic ruck. Fancy pitting Yoda and Rey against Darth Vader and Captain Phasma? Go for it.

Meanwhile, players will gain access to fresh clobber based on the opening act of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, including the Skiff Guard getup for Lando and the Bouchh bounty hunter gear for Leia. These will be made available via Credits or Crystals.

Finally, the much-requested Custom Arcade mode is being integrated to allow players to polish up on their flight skills using Starfighters spanning all Star Wars eras, including the Rebellion X-Wings or Solo's Millennium Falcon.

More info on The Han Solo Season will be shared next month, so stay tuned.
