Developer Dramatic Labs has shown off the first gameplay of its upcoming adventure Star Trek: Resurgence in a new video.

The game, set in the iconic sci-fi universe, was first announced back in December at the Game Awards 2021. Taking place after the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation, you’ll slip into the uniform of two new characters. First Officer Jara Rydek and Engineering Crewperson Carter Diaz are both serving upon the U.S.S. Resolute when they uncover a mystery that sees two warring alien civilizations caught in the middle.

You’ll get to freely explore your ship and strange new worlds as you investigate on this feature-length game. (Dramatic Labs has confirmed the game won’t be episodic.) Naturally, you’ll cross paths with Star Trek characters new and old as you take part in this narrative adventure. Those include characters like Ambassador Spock who makes an appearance in this new gameplay footage below, courtesy of IGN.

You’ll have to make some choices and decisions that will have galaxy-wide repercussions. It’s a good thing then that Dramatic Labs are made up of around twenty former Telltale developers who have some experience in this field. They include founder and former CEO Kevin Bruner as well as former creative director Andrew Grant.
