Hopefully some readers will remember that Star Fox 64 (Lylat Wars as it was known here) was the first Nintendo 64 title to use the rumble pack, and was bundled with the nifty device. In fact, the game was the first of its kind – the dawn of a new era of rumbling games.

It’s quite fitting then that Star Fox Command, the first Star Fox game on the DS, will utilize the DS rumble pack cartridge. It’s not the first DS game to use the cart though – Metroid Prime Hunters and Pinball, as well as Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time have support for the rumbling add-on.

Other news reveals that the game will feature around 30 stages scattered about in all kinds of locations, such as deserts, oceans and space. The game arrives in stores in Japan on August 3, with the US release following several weeks later on August 28. We’re still waiting for a Euro release date, but we hope the game will make it here in time for Christmas.
