When is the next Stalker 2 patch coming out after patch 1.01? Here’s what we know

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has finally been out for over a week after several delays. And while the game offers a gritty survival experience within the Exclusion Zone, as we’ve covered in our review, it is not devoid of issues. From crashes, endless shader compiling, and more – it was a rocky start, to say the least. Not to mention the A-Life 2.0 system not working as expected. Stalkers around the world were anticipating a patch from day one to address the game’s many problems. So when is that much-anticipated patch coming?

When is the next Stalker 2 patch going to be released?

The devs have addressed the players following the game’s launch, acknowledging the game’s issues and reassuring everyone that they’re working on fixing them. Recently, the GSC Game World team posted a list of patch notes for the upcoming patch. The patch notes ended up being far larger than this snippet suggested – we have covered them in full here. This first patch for Stalker 2, patch 1.01, was released on Friday, November 29. With plenty more to fix, we can expect another patch coming down the line. When, however, is anyone’s guess right now.

Most notably, A-Life fixes didn’t come with this patch, which has been a major grievance with many players. Many have claimed that the world feels empty with the AI system bugged and should be the first port of call for the devs. Some modders have taken the matter into their own hands, with mixed results. Still, we’re happy to see that many crash errors are going to be addressed in this patch, which arguably caused more trouble and are of higher priority. In addition, NPC behaviour fixes mentioned in the patch could be a first step in fixing A-Life, so there’s still reason to be hopeful that the fix won’t be too far behind.
