Stalker 2 has been out for a little while after several delays. While it offers a gritty survival experience in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, as we’ve covered in our review, it isn’t devoid of issues. From crashes to endless shader compiling and plenty more, it was a rocky start, to say the least. Not to mention the A-Life 2.0 system not working as expected at the start. The first string of major patches have addressed several of those issues already. Patches from 1.01 to 1.1.3 have come and gone, so when is the next patch coming?
When is the next Stalker 2 patch going to be released?
Developer GSC Game World has acknowledged the issues and reassured players that it is working on fixing them. The first Stalker 2 patch, patch 1.01, was released on Friday, November 29, 2024. With plenty more to fix, we didn’t have to wait long for further patches to arrive. Patch 1.02 was released immediately after, on November 30, 2024, followed by 1.03 on December 3, 2024. The game’s first major patch, titled patch 1.1 was released on December 19, 2024, with a huge list of fixes and improvements, followed shortly by a smaller patch 1.1.2 on December 20, 2024, and patch 1.1.3 on December 23, 2024.
So, when is the next patch going to be released? With the developer fresh off of a holiday break for the festive season, we can expect the next patch to come out in January 2025, or possibly in early February 2025. When, however, is anyone’s guess right now. Alongside that, we don’t know if the patch is going to be a small update for 1.1.4, or if we can expect another large patch to bring the game to version 1.2.
Most notably, A-Life fixes have been introduced in patch 1.1, which has been a major grievance with many players. The notable ‘behind your back’ spawns have been addressed, along with plenty of other A-Life changes. However, we can expect more of them down the line because the system is simply too complex to cover everything in a single patch.
