Square Enix has trademarked ‘Lara Croft: Reflections’.

Filed by Square Enix’s UK office last week (spotted by Siliconera), the trademark’s description suggests that the name could be related to an unannounced Tomb Raider title or an “online computer game service”.

Siliconera, however, speculates that Reflections could be the name of an epilogue planned for this month’s Tomb Raider, despite comments from the series’ global brand director Karl Stewart earlier this week suggesting that single-player DLC was off the cards.

So, could the name be linked to a Tomb Raider sequel? Last year, Crystal Dynamics told VideoGamer.com that it already had Lara’s future mapped out.

“I have to be careful because I know exactly where she’s going,” Stewart told VideoGamer.com when asked about the series’ future.

“You have to look at the future, you have to look at where… It’s not just one game. At the end of this game we want her to be that strong female character that is willing to go and seek out mysteries and seek out tombs. She’s going to be going to plenty of tombs in this game, but we’re going to have somebody who wants to go on that adventure, who wants to be the person that she now is. That’s the goal.”

Square Enix told VideoGamer.com that it “does not comment on rumour and speculation” when contacted about the trademark this morning.
