John Woo was originally attached to direct the movie based on the Midway license, but Variety reports that Anderson has taken the helm.

Spy Hunter works for a secret government agency and uses a gadget-laden car known as the Interceptor to hunt down the bad guys. The Interceptor can transform from a car into a motorcycle, jet ski and submarine.

Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson stared in Midway’s Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run video game for Xbox and PlayStation 2 and had been attached to star in the motion picture, although it’s now not known if he will hold onto the role.
