Ubisoft has released its Q3 results and 2005-2006 fiscal year outlook, but the big news is the delay of the highly anticipated Splinter Cell Double Agent for Xbox 360, PC and current-gen platforms. The game will now be released in September 2006.
“In addition, the rescheduling to September 2006 of the launch of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent is meant to release the title on all platforms simultaneously, including the Microsoft Xbox 360 that should have a much larger installed base by that time,” said Yves Guillemot, President & CEO of Ubisoft. “This will also enable to maintain the highest quality for which Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell is recognized. This rescheduling will ensure the best return from the coming release as well as from future sequels of this brand over time.”
Splinter Cell Essentials for the PSP is not affected by this delay, and is still on track for a release before March 31 2006. We’ll bring you more as we get it.
