RAD Soldiers, an all-new turn-based multiplayer strategy title for smartphones and tablets from Splash Damage, will be released first for iOS this June, new free-to-play publisher WarChest has announced.

The game is set in London shortly after mysterious McGuffin Rockets land, leading to a city-wide evacuation. Teams of mercenaries hired by shadowy figures now battle for control of the Rockets and reap their mysterious rewards.

Players will assemble a unique squad of collectible mercenaries with customisable weapons, outfits, and abilities, then take this team into “hilarious tactical combat” on a turn-based battlefield, either offline against AI opponents, or online against your friends.

“Turn-based combat means there’s no rush, allowing you to ponder your next move at your leisure, and giving you ample time to unleash your inner tactical genius,” said game director Richard Jolly, CCO of WarChest, “and you’ll earn valuable experience for your soldiers whenever you play, levelling up your squad commander to unlock new abilities.”

“You’ll also earn coins while you play and use them to unlock brand new soldiers, customisation options and equipment in the ever expanding in-game store,” said WarChest’s CEO Paul Wedgwood, “and use Game Center and Facebook to connect with friends and make new ones.”

A constant stream of updates, including new maps, soldiers, weapons, and abilities is already in development.

WarChest is a London based publisher of free, digitally distributed, games with high production values for all leading platforms. The publisher is founded by video-game directors and entrepreneurs Paul Wedgwood and Richard Jolly.
