The Halo TV series from Steven Spielberg – separate to the episodic Halo Nightfall series – remains in development at Showtime, although comments made by the studio’s president suggest we won’t be seeing the series for some time.

Speaking to IGN at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour, Showtime president David Nevins said the Halo series is “still in development. Still in very active development.”

Pressed for info on when we’ll hear more about the show, Nevins added: “No time soon.”

The project was revealed back in 2013 with Steven Spielberg attached to produce, with Showtime emerging as a potential partner for the production one year later. Xbox later said the show would debut this autumn to coincide with the release of Halo 5, but we’ve heard nothing on the project in the time since.
