Insomniac Games has announced that Spider-Man on PlayStation 4 will receive a new costume inspired by Marvel cinematic behemoth, Avengers Infinity War.

The web-slinging superhero will be able to kit himself out in the Iron Spider suit, which will be available to anyone who pre-orders the upcoming PS4-exclusive action-adventure game. Much like the Spider-Punk suit, the Iron Spider will boast some unique abilities, although Insomniac's keeping mum on exactly what they are for now.

Spidey of course plays a significant role in Avengers Infinity War alongside the likes of Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor, with actor Tom Holland once again strapping on the iconc suit. He's also tipped to play Nathan Drake in the long-delayed Uncharted movie, which focuses on a younger incarnation of the treasure hunter.

'In Marvel’s Spider-Man, having a variety of suits for players to use was a must-have for us. We looked across all of the Spider-Man lore for inspiration, and in the final game you’ll find suits inspired by comics and film, as well as completely original suits created by Insomniac and other artists. Each of the suits looks absolutely spectacular and we can’t wait for you to see more of them,' the developer wrote on the PlayStation Blog.

Spider-Man is swinging into stores on September 7 in the US and UK. Check out the Iron Spider suit trailer below.
