Square Enix has announced that Space Invaders Extreme 2 from Taito will be released across PAL territories on October 2, 2009, for Nintendo DS.
The iconic Invaders are back and this time the action promises to be even more extreme. Taito has combined the essence of the original game with futuristic graphic design and cutting-edge audio, overhauled gameplay and a new range of power-ups, to create a whole new way to take the fight to the alien invasion.
Larry Sparks, Vice President of Brand, Square Enix products commented: “Space Invaders Extreme 2 is another quality arcade release from Taito that improves upon the original in every way possible. With more intense and exhilarating action, I am sure that fans will find this another thrilling and fun addition to the legacy of Space Invaders.”
In addition to a host of single-player game modes, Space Invaders Extreme 2 also offers multiplayer via DS Download Play and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
