Roman mythology-based MMO Gods & Heroes: Rome Rising will be distributed by SouthPeak this June after securing the rights from Heatwave Interactive.

Those who buy the retail version will receive a slew of in-game extras. These include a minion who will follow players into battle, as well as a new weapon pack which will feature blades, axes, and magic staves. Players will also receive two additional game keys to offer friends.

Rome Rising is a full-scale MMO that has users defending Rome from an evil cult while recruiting and commanding minions against evil gods.

The game will join Stronghold 3 in its line-up of PC titles this year.

The game was well received back in 2006 when it was awarded numerous awards at E3. In fact it it was originally set to be released in late 2005 but was eventually put on hold when its developer began working on Star Trek Online. Naturally it’s unclear how it will fair five years on.
