South Park: The Stick of Truth has been delayed in the UK until March 7, 2014, Ubisoft has announced. The game will launch three days earlier in the US on March 4.

Obsidian’s comedy RPG had previously been due to launch on December 13. A reason for the delay has not been provided.

“We always wanted the game to feel like you’re actually in an episode of South Park,” said series creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker in response to the game’s delay. “Getting the game up to the crappy standards of the show has been a real challenge and we’re excited to say it’s taken way longer than we thought it would.”

The Stick of Truth has seen numerous delays following its announcement back in December 2011, having originally been due to launch under THQ last year.

The game was later snapped up by Ubisoft during THQ’s assets sale earlier this year.

It’s not all bad news for South Park fans, though. To coincide with the announcement of the game’s delay, Ubisoft released a brand new trailer revealing seven minutes worth of gameplay. Check it out below.
