GameSpot reports that Namco Bandai is making it a beat ’em up double-header on the PSP this year. Not only is the publisher bringing Tekken 6 to the Sony handheld, but also Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny.
The game is said to be based on the fundamental mechanics of last year’s Soulcalibur IV and will feature a roster of more than 20 fighters. This collection of brawlers will be missing the console game’s Star Wars characters, but will boast at least one new character, Dampierre.
The character customisation feature of the console version is also being expanded for the PSP game, and a new single-player mode will accompany the usual Arcade, Versus and Survival game types. The new mode has been designed to train up newcomers to the series, featuring more than 80 rope-teaching missions.
Additionally, players will be able to take part in local wireless battles. No online functionality has been announced.
Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny is scheduled for release this summer exclusively on PSP.
