A demo for Soul Sacrifice, the PS Vita magical-action title from legendary designer Keiji Inafune, will be released in Europe on April 17, Sony Computer Entertainment America has announced.

The demo begins in the depths of despair. You are a slave – owned and imprisoned by a ruthless mage – set to be sacrificed. Certain death is interrupted by the appearance of a mysterious book which, able to think and speak, introduces itself at Librom.

Those who read the book experience what’s written within.

The European release includes two unique costumes with which players can customise their character, plus three magic items:

  • Spirits’ Flamepike – Shards of the spear provided by Fire spirits, unleashing a five hit combo attack with heat effects
  • Spirits’ Blightstone – Explosive stones with poison effects provided by the spirits
  • Spirits’ Fulgurwood – Root provided by the Thunder spirits. Tracks enemies on the ground and attacks with thunders spell

Those who pre-order will also get the Japanese voice-over pack for free at launch, which Sony plans to sell at a later date.

Soul Sacrifice will be released across Europe on April 30.
