Two decades on from the release of the last game in the series, a “Soul Reaver 1 and 2 Remastered” branding has been spotted at San Diego Comic-Con, sparking rumors that a return to Nosgoth could be on the cards for current-gen consoles.

Shared by ResetEra user Mama Robotnik, the Soul Reaver 1 and 2 Remastered branding is featured alongside a figure of Raziel facing off against Kain with his iconic Wraith Blade in hand. Of course, this by no means confirms a potential port to PlayStation, PC, or Xbox platforms, so you will need to take this information with the customary grain of salt. VideoGamer has reached out to Crystal Dynamics for comment, and will provide updates when available.

It’s also worth noting that this isn’t the first piece of Legacy of Kain content to appear in recent weeks. At the beginning of July, Crystal Dynamics and Bit Bot Media revealed Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver – The Dead Shall Rise, a graphic novel that serves as a prequel to the Soul Reaver games. The standalone story follows Raziel’s life as a human leading up to his conversion into one of Kain’s vampiric lieutenants. The graphic novel will be crowdfunded via Kickstarter, where you can save it now and be notified once it starts.

With all the recent Soul Reaver content coming in simultaneously, this could indicate even bigger reveals in the near future. It’s also the closest fans have come to getting a near-confirmation regarding its long-awaited return, so the immediate excitement following its reveal shouldn’t come as a surprise. But for now, you’ll have to temper your expectations until its developers provide more details because nothing has been confirmed yet.

Until then, why not get up to speed on the latest industry news, like Blizzard’s decision to bring back 6v6 to Overwatch 2 or Fallout London’s crash-filled yet still successful release?
