Sony Cambridge Studio’s Mark Green has revealed that a new version of its PS3 digital video recorder, PlayTV, is currently in development.

Asked by Spong what’s currently in development at the studio, Green said: “Well, as a whole studio, I think you saw TV Superstars for Move announced a little while ago. We’re still working on PlayTV, PlayTV 2. And then we have other guys working on other concepts…”

Earlier this year it was confirmed that social networking features, including Facebook integration, are being added to PlayTV, but an all new device could allow for Freeview HD support.

Green also confirmed that the studio plans to continue supporting LittleBigPlanet PSP with DLC releases until Christmas at the very least.

“We’ve DLC lined up for a few months to come as yet. Right up until – we’ve got a Christmas pack lined up,” he said.
