Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has released a statement confirming that LittleBigPlanet is to miss its planned October 24 UK release date, but is currently unable to confirm exactly when the game will now be available.

“During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur’an,” explained the statement from SCEE. “We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused.

“We will confirm the new launch date shortly.”

Earlier today retailer Zavvi sent out an email to its customers informing the of the game’s slip from October 24. The retailer’s website now lists a November 14 release date.
