While Sony originally planned to release the PSP in Europe before the end of March, they recently announced that it wouldn’t meet that date and it appears that concerns over stock for the US launch has been the major problem. A spokesperson spoke to Reuters commenting that “It’s been deferred. We were originally hoping for an end of fiscal year (March 31) launch, but now that’s not going to be the case. It is likely to be a matter of a few months rather than a few weeks — it’s a matter of allocation.”

We’ll bring you more news on the European release date for the PSP as soon as one is announced. The PSP will be released in North America on March 24th 2005.
