David Reeves, Capcom Europe chief operating officer and former Sony Computer Entertainment Europe boss, has revealed he feels Sony must come out with a new PSP if it is to stand a chance against Nintendo.
“It’s an exciting time and you could possibly have two handhelds coming out within months or a year of each other,” Reeves told GamesIndustry.biz.
He added: “Sony tried to make the transition with PSPgo, I think that changed some consumers attitudes, but they need to come back with something on PSP pretty quickly to stay in the game because Nintendo are s*** hot at getting these things right. And they always get these things right.”
The PSP2 was rumoured to make an appearance at E3 earlier this week, but the annual expo is now over and a new Sony handheld was nowhere to be seen.
