The Last Guardian is unlikely to make an appearance at next month’s Tokyo Games Show, Sony Worldwide Studios Boss Shuhei Yoshida has said – but Sony does a “have a certain time frame in mind” for the game’s re-reveal.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Yoshida tempered expectations when asked whether the game would be shown off next month. “I don’t think so,” he responded, “sorry”.

Yoshida is then asked when we are likely to see it.

“When we are ready. I cannot confirm any timing because we are waiting for it to be in a state where we are happy that this is the game. We have a certain time frame in our mind, and the team is making great progress, but still not to the point that we can say that, here you go.”

The Last Guardian has had a very troubled development following its debut way back in 2010, with multiple rumours suggesting the game may have been cancelled.

Sony maintains that the game continues to be in active development.
