Many Canadian gamers are reporting that their PSP pre-orders are unlikely to be filled due to Sony supplying very few standard Value Packs in their country. It appears that the US is receiving the bulk of the standard Value packs, with Canada being left with Gretzky bundle packs which cost $50 (CDN) more and force early adopters into buying, what seems to be, an under-par game.
Gaming news blog, Joystiq, received a very angry email from a Canadian gamer who had placed an order for the PSP at his local EB Games store, but has now had to cancel or take the Gretzky bundle. Even if this is the situation all across North America, it is odd. Why would Sony produce so many bundles that include a game that no one seems to want? We don’t want to sound cynical, but it is an easy way to sell a lot of poor games that would have otherwise stayed on the store shelves.
We’ll keep you up-to-date on the PSP launch stock allocation throughout next week as the March 24th release date approaches.
