Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has today announced that 2009 is going to be a big year for PSP with the release of portable versions of its acclaimed LittleBigPlanet and MotorStorm franchises.

LittleBigPlanet on PSP will allow players to create their own levels and share them with the community just as was the case with the PS3 game. No further details are available at this time.

Sony has spilled a little more info on the PSP edition of MotorStorm, or MotorStorm: Arctic Edge to give the game its official title. The brutal off-road racing game heads to the Arctic, the series’ most extreme location yet.

“There are a lot of big claims in the gaming industry but we’re confident when we say that 2009 is going to be an exciting year for PSP,” said Mark Hardy, European Marketing Director, SCEE. “Our fans have demanded big PSP titles and this year, we’re going to deliver again and again. With Resistance: Retribution, already on its way to stores, PSP gamers are going to get one big franchise after another.”
