Sony has announced a new program offering PlayStation 3 players the chance to upgrade upcoming titles to the PlayStation 4 version for a “significantly discounted price”.

The program lets players who purchase a PlayStation 3 copy of a participating title, which includes Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4 and Watch Dogs, download a digital PlayStation 4 version at a discounted price for a limited time.

Warner Bros., Activision, Ubisoft and EA have already signed up for the program.

It isn’t yet clear whether players will be required to purchase a digital copy of the PlayStation 3 title in order to be eligible for the discount, or how much discount they’ll be entitled to.

Sony announced the initiative during its Gamescom press conference earlier this evening, where it announced that PlayStation 4 would release across Europe on November 29, and that over 1 million PS4s had been pre-ordered worldwide.
