Paramount has confirmed that the Sonic the Hedgehog movie will be hitting cinemas on November 15, 2019. No, we had no idea this was a thing either.

The Blue Blur’s cinematic assault will feature Neal H. Moritz and Tim Miller serving as producer and executive producer, respectively, with Jeff Fowler making his directorial debut on the project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sonic the Hedgehog’s script is being penned by Pat Casey and Josh Miller, who previously cooked up Golan the Insatiable for Fox Animation. The movie will employ both CGI and live-action elements, although we certainly hope it doesn’t involve actual humans making out with the speedy hero as depicted in Sonic ’06.

Not much else is known at this point, although it’s probably a safe bet to assume we’ll be seeing the likes of Tails, Knuckles, and Dr. Eggman involved in the plot. Why not have a crack at Sonic Mania while you wait?Â
