Here’s a bit of a surprise; SEGA’s Sonic Team, the in-house studio which specialises in making Sonic the Hedgehog games, isn’t working on the recently announced Sonic 4.
Fear not Sonic fans, the new game is in the good hands of Osaka-based Dimps. If that name is ringing a bell, it’s because these are the people responsible for the rather excellent 2D Sonic titles Sonic Rush and Sonic Advance.
This seems like a pretty smart decision by SEGA. We know we’d rather be playing Dimps’ handheld Sonics than SEGA Team’s Sonic Unleashed.
Sonic 4 will be released as a downloadable game this summer on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
