Star Wars Battlefront II, the game which has been popping up in the news constantly because of its loot crates and progression system, is back in the news again, but this time it’s a tale of triumph as people are finding ways to get in-game credits without spending wads of real cash.

You can get credits in Battlefront 2 by simply participating in a match. You don’t have to be skillful, you just have to be there. Reddit user Lowberg has decided that the participation medal is good enough for them and has constructed a mechanical masterpiece which plays the game by itself.

‘Today I built a Progression Droid that pushes buttons while AFK to unskillfully collect credits,’ the modern day marvel wrote to accompany the image above. What we see wasn’t the first draft, though, as Lowberg goes on to say ‘Initially my robot had one stick to move the joysticks. Then I realized they patched the ability to auto re-spawn, so I added the 2nd one to just randomly press X lmao.’ Lmao indeed, Lowberg.

As you can see from the video below, this feat of engineering isn’t able to rack up kills or anything, but does stop Lowberg getting kicked from games for inactivity while they binge a Netflix series or whatever. It’s genius.
