Sony Computer Entertainment has revealed that SOCOM 4 is in development for the PlayStation 3. Original SOCOM developer, and studio behind January’s MAG, Zipper Interactive is at the helm, with Sony aiming for a winter 2010 release.
As commander of an elite five-man squad, you’ll face enemies across jungle, city street and war-torn environments. Helping you out will be the very latest in weapons technology, stealth skills and tactical thinking.
SOCOM 4 is said to feature a proper single-player campaign, but will also include 32-player multiplayer support. The PlayStation 3 received the disappointing online-only SOCOM Confrontation last year, but SOCOM 4 is the first PS3 entry in the series developed by Zipper.
Expect more news on SOCOM 4 in the coming months.
