Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, the sequel to the surprise hit Sniper: Ghost Warrior, will be released in 2012 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, City Interactive has announced.

As previously detailed, the title will make use of Crytek’s CryEngine 3 – the same technology used to make the fantastic looking Crysis 2.

There’s no other information on the game at this time, but expect details to come thick and fast in the coming weeks.

The first game was almost universally panned by critics, but found a large audience on Xbox 360 and PC, selling over a million copies.

However, if the sequel is to sell we believe City Interactive will have to offer a vastly improved product.
