Activision has announced that The Smashing Pumpkins, one of rock’s defining rock bands, will debut its brand new single ‘G.L.O.W.’ exclusively in Guitar Hero: World Tour.

This will be the first time the band has recorded a new song exclusively for the franchise which will be released in traditional formats afterwards. The new track will be available post launch as part of a Smashing Pumpkins song pack, which also includes ‘1979’ and ‘The Everlasting Gaze’.

Additionally the Guitar Hero World Tour game disc will feature The Smashing Pumpkins’ singer, songwriter and lead guitarist Billy Corgan as an in-game character and ‘Today’, the band’s smash hit from their four-times platinum 1993 album Siamese Dream.

Guitar Hero World Tour is being developed by Neversoft Entertainment for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The Wii version is being developed by Vicarious Visions and the PS2 version is being developed by Budcat. All versions are scheduled for release this autumn.
