The PSP already has Virtual Tennis World Tour and the imminent Virtual Tennis 3, and it’s been announced that Namco’s Smash Court Tennis 3 will join SEGA’s duo later this year.

The game will feature a total of 16 tennis pros including Rafa Nadal, Roger Federer and Justine Henin. Namco also says that the PSP game will feature far more customisation that its console predecessors, plus mini-games alongside the usual arcade, exhibition and pro-tour modes.

There’s good news on the multiplayer front too, with support for wireless ad hoc play that will make use of game-sharing, meaning only one copy of the game is needed.

The game will be published by Namco Bandai in North America where it is scheduled for release in the autumn. There’s no word on the European release at this time, but it’s likely to follow the US release later this year.
