Bethesda has metaphorically popped open a special bottle of champagne after announcing that

“Skyrim Steam Workshop downloads are over 13.6 million” on Twitter.

I don’t know how expensive this metaphorical champagne is, but I imagine the publisher can afford a pretty high-end bottle after Skyrim’s gargantuan success.

“PC mods FTW,” added the studio.

Bethesda announced Steam Workshop support for Skyrim with the launch of its modding tools in February. The service saw over two million mods – which includes the option to transform the menacing dragons into adorable My Little Ponies – get downloaded within three days.

This week Bethesda also announced that the first chunk of DLC for Skyrim, Dawnguard, will be released this summer as a timed Xbox 360 exclusive.
