id Software has revealed it will be kicking off its “6 new maps in 6 weeks” Quake Live campaign with the release of Hidden Fortress.

Hidden Fortress was first seen in the SEGA Dreamcast version of Quake III Arena and was originally created by Martin Kaai Cluney, a designer for Raster Productions – now a designer at id Software working on the RAGE team.

The map is medium sized with three main rooms, said to be perfect for 6-10 player team deathmatch, clan arena and free for all gameplay.

Hidden Fortress should be live today, with further maps (a mix of new and classics) to be revealed in the coming weeks.
