Nintendo of Europe has today confirmed that a new Silver DS Lite will be released across Europe on October 12, priced £99. This new colour offers another option for consumers perhaps not sold on the black, white or pink versions.

Nintendo has also used this new product announcement to deal out some DS related stats. The handheld console has become Europe’s best-selling console with more than 14 million units sold to date – in many European territories the handheld is the fastest selling games console in history.

More Brain Training from Dr. Kawashima: How Old Is Your Brain? is soon to hit the one million milestone in Europe having notched up sales of over 915,000 units in 11 weeks. Meanwhile its predecessor, Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? has now sold over 3.3 million copies and continues to sell well despite launching over a year ago.

The chart-topping Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl launched across Europe seven weeks ago and have gone on to sell 1.6 million units combined.
