A new rumor claims that Silent Hill Townfall is on course for an early 2026 release, and there’s also claims that its gameplay is similar to Hideo Kojima’s famous P.T. demo as well as Silent Hill Short Message. It’s an exciting time to be a fan of Silent Hill. SH f has just come out and proven an instant success selling over one million copies in just three days, meanwhile, Bloober Team are officially in the process of developing a Silent Hill remake, taking fans back to where and how the series started. While we cannot wait for Bloober Team’s remake, we’re also very excited by the prospect of Silent Hill Townfall.

Silent Hill Townfall rumored for early 2026 release

French horror gaming outlet, Biohazard Ultimate, claims that “According to several internal discussions, Silent Hill Townfall is set to release on March 26, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC”. The outlet further claims that “A Silent Hill Showcase is scheduled to take place later this month [October] to highlight more information about Silent Hill Townfall and also feature the first trailer for Silent Hill 1 Remake”.

In addition to claiming a March release, earlier this month Biohazard Ultimate reported that Silent Hill Townfall is a “game with several short stories that focus on ghosts from a town’s past, and especially the spirits that haunt a small beach not far from the town in question where the story will take place”. As for gameplay, they claim it is “similar to Silent Hill Short Message,” meaning there’s “No weapon, no object, only jumpscares and investigation and pursuit footage”.

Although comparing it to the critically panned SH Short Message, it could also be compared to Kojima’s P.T. as there was no combat or objects in that demo either, only a loop of investigating and experiencing unique scares. There’s no mention in the report whether SH Townfall is first-person like P.T. and Short Message, but we can probably assume it is first rather than third-person.

Of course, this is only leaks rather than anything official. However, it’s not the first time Townfall has been rumored for 2026 as prominent leaker, Dusk Goldem, suggested it will come out next year back in July.

Assuming this leak is accurate and Townfall comes out in March, then it’s yet another big game coming out before the giant headache that is GTA 6. March is already stacked with Crimson Desert and 007 First Light, not to mention Resident Evil Requiem is also scheduled for February 27th.

We will have to wait and see if this leak comes to fruition. So far, all that’s been revealed about Townfall is the trailer back in 2022. It is also developed by Screen Burn, formerly known as No Code. This developer has made some excellent experimental horror games before such as the compilation tape, Stories Untold, and the very unique sci-fi space epic, Observation.

In other Silent Hill news, Bloober Team are reportedly planning a SH3 Remake while also developing an original game inspired by Resident Evil. Silent Hill 2 Remake is also leaked for PS Plus Extra October 2025, and the Born From A Wish DLC is allegedly releasing “around the window” of next year’s new movie.
