Konami has today announced that Silent Hill Origins, released for PSP late last year, is to make its way to PlayStation 2 in May 2008.

Origins acts as prequel to the hugely popular horror series, and sees players take control of Travis Grady, a truck driver who gets stuck the terrifying town of Silent Hill while making a delivery.

The PlayStation 2 version will sport visual enhancements and will maintain the Cineractive System introduced in the PSP game. This allows players to take on horrifying monsters using a control scheme that changes intuitively for each situation.

Silent Hill Origins will be released for PlayStation 2 in May 2008 and if Konami can iron out some camera problems, brought on by the limitations of the PSP, PlayStation 2 owners have a title to look forward to this summer.
