A rumor claims Bloober Team are developing a Silent Hill 3 Remake for 2028 and that they are also working on a new IP inspired by Resident Evil. Bloober Team were responsible for the Silent Hill 2 Remake, and they did a phenomenal job updating the original masterpiece. Since then, the developer has recently released Cronos New Dawn, and they have confirmed they are officially developing a remake of the original Silent Hill released all the way back in 1999. The developer has also teased working on six other mysterious projects, and two of them are allegedly more Silent Hill.
Rumor claims Bloober Team is working on Silent Hill 3 Remake and original IP inspired by Resident Evil
As reported by Polish outlet, Stockwatch, Bloober Team recently participated in a call with investors. Asked what current projects the studio is working on, Bloober Team is translated as saying, “We have two first party production teams, one of whom is working on the Silent Hill 1 project, and the other has started working on the next project”. In addition, “five projects are currently being implemented as part of the second party”.
Asked how many projects they are currently working on for Konami, Bloober Team are again translated as answering, “The Management Board officially announced the conclusion of another agreement with Konami on one project”. This suggests that Bloober Team only have an agreement in place with Konami to work on the Silent Hill 1 Remake.
Despite Bloober Team’s suggestion, a rumor claims that the studio will deliver a Silent Hill 3 Remake in 2028 with the Silent Hill 1 Remake coming out in 2027. This rumor comes courtesy of French horror gaming site, Biohazardultimate. They further claim that Bloober Team’s other mysterious projects include an entirely original new entry in the Silent Hill franchise.
As for beyond Silent Hill, Biohazardultimate claims that Bloober Team is working on a “New IP inspired by Resident Evil”. This is supposedly planned for 2026. There’s no further elaboration as to how it’s inspired by Resident Evil, but it could possibly be similar to how Cronos New Dawn is evidently influenced by Dead Space.
Lastly, the French source claims Bloober Team are planning two new unknown IPs, as well as a “Parallel story Cronos” with no estimated date. Remember that this is only a rumor rather than anything official, and plans can always change internally with nothing announced.
A Silent Hill 3 Remake seems inevitable, and it would make sense for Bloober Team to be the developers considering the job they did with Silent Hill 2. As for an entirely original Silent Hill installment and an IP inspired by Resident Evil, these are enticing prospects, but nothing concrete as of writing.
Regarding the future of Silent Hill, the series producer has said new entries will have gameplay different to f as Konami aims to “deliver a different flavor with each title”.
