Prominent leaker claims that the Silent Hill 2 Remake Born From A Wish DLC will be announced soon and release “around the window” of the new movie set to hit theatres next year. There’s a lot to look forward to for fans of the Silent Hill franchise. We officially know that Bloober Team is developing a remake of the 1999 epic that kickstarted the franchise, meanwhile, Bloober Team are also rumored to be planning a Silent Hill 3 Remake as well as developing an original game inspired by Resident Evil. While we cannot wait for more remakes of the series’ glory years, it appears we are not yet done with SH2.
Silent Hill 2 Remake Born From A Wish DLC rumored release window
According to prominent horror gaming leaker, Dusk Golem, the long-awaited Silent Hill 2 Remake PS5 Pro patch and Born From a Wish DLC “should be announced sooner or later”. It’s also claimed that Konami are getting ready to reveal the Xbox version as the game’s one-year PS5 exclusivity is almost up as the SH2 Remake was released for PlayStation consoles on October 8th, 2024.
Lastly, in addition to announcements allegedly happening “sooner or later,” Dusk Golem claims that Konami will likely tie the Born From A Wish DLC “around the window of the upcoming Return to Silent Hill movie based off SH2”. The release date for Return to Silent Hill is January 23rd, 2026, so, assuming Dusk Golem is accurate, Born From A Wish could be a new year’s treat for SH fans.
For newcomers unaware, Born From A Wish is bonus content that takes you out of the shoes of James to fill the high heels of Maria. Places you explore as Maria include the Baldwin Mansion, and it’s a neat side-story fans of the original Silent Hill 2 have been craving since the remake’s release.
None of this is official as of writing, but hopefully we get announcements soon following the end of the SH2 Remake’s one-year exclusivity deal with PlayStation. The SH2 Remake is a brilliant and faithful adaptation of one of the greatest horror games ever, and players on Xbox deserve to experience the infamous town and brave the terrors that lurk underneath the fog.
In other Silent Hill news, the series’ producer has promised f is the not the blueprint for gameplay moving forward as Konami want to offer a “different flavor with each title”.
