It took over 20 years for the world to give us a remake of Silent Hill 2, and Polish developer Bloober Team proved everyone wrong when it actually came out great. Well, in the year since then, one hardcore fan has taken it upon themselves to bring the entirety of the original PS2 game to a brand new audience… Roblox players.

Created by Shapic2, the aptly titled “Silent Hill 2” game allows you to explore the fog-filled town of the original Silent Hill 2 in its entirely, and it’s gloriously cursed.

Silent Hill 2 makes its Roblox debut

Available to play right here if you have a Roblox account, Shapic’s recreation brings the entire Silent Hill 2 map to the popular online gaming platform. Using the original PS2 game’s map data and 3D models, you can experience damn near everything.

Using a volumetric fog effect developed by Roblox user FrizzyG4m3r, it is a very faithful exploration through the unsettling world of the PS2 original. However, the creator urges anyone who plays the map to actually play the original game as well.

“This is a small WIP Project of ported Silent Hill 2 map, purely for showcasing,” the creator said. “This is not the best way to experience Silent Hill 2.”

The entire game’s map is here, all the way down to the control room that Mira the Shiba is controlling the game through. It’s grimy little haunted house tour that is also populated by other players with a total of 35 little Roblox guys able to popular a single server.

At the time of writing, Silent Hill 2’s Roblox map has been played by over 130,000 people, and it seems well-liked. Of course, just like it’s creator, we would suggest everyone play either the original game (thanks to mods, the PC version is pretty damn perfect) or Bloober Team’s faithful remake.
