Gamereactor reports that Sigourney Weaver was approached to appear in the upcoming Ghostbusters video game, but turned down the opportunity.

Speaking during a Ghostbusters press event in Stockholm, the game’s executive producer Brendan Goss revealed that developer Terminal Reality did approach Weaver early on in the game’s development but the actress turned down the opportunity to reprise her role as Dana Barrett.

Goss added that once Bill Murray’s involvement in the game was announced, Weaver wanted in on the game, but it was too late; a new leading lady had already been written in to the story.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game is scheduled for release in June.
